The Mason IDEA Project
Fairfax, VA

Roles: Executive Producer, Director and co-videographer for the Mason IDEA video project
Scope of Work:
The Creative Services team collaborated on a series of (6) videos over the course of 30 days for the President's live inauguration that culminated with a live spoken word performance by a Mason student.
I was lead project manager, overseeing a $20,000 budget, managing freelance contractors, coordinating production schedules and serving as Executive Producer, Director and co-videographer.
4,000 people (students, faculty, staff, volunteers, friends, and community leaders)  engaged in discussions about what makes George Mason University what it is, about the challenges it faces, and about the opportunities it has to deliver on their mission.
In the process, we identified four words that define the type of university Mason is: innovative, diverse, entrepreneurial, and accessible. The university refers to these four words as the Mason IDEA.
These four characteristics are mutually supportive.
Because Mason is accessible and inclusive, they are diverse. Diversity of people and ideas fuels their innovation and produces new ideas which inspire initiatives and interventions that make a difference.
We worked diligently to represent the Mason IDEA visually through this six-part video series.
Completion: April 2013
